iPhone 15 Pro

Apple’s recent iPhone 15 Pro launch created quite a buzz with its reference to “Spatial computing video.” But what exactly is this feature, and how does it work?

In simpler terms, Spatial video utilizes 3-dimensional video recording, making it easy and seamless for the user. The iPhone 15 Pro takes smartphone videography to the next level by allowing users to record spatial videos. This is achieved by combining data from the Main and Ultra cameras, resulting in something akin to stereoscopic video. Think of it as a video that captures depth and dimension, making your memories feel more lifelike.

The real magic happens when you play back these spatial videos on Apple’s upcoming spatial computing Vision Pro headset, slated for release next year. This headset promises an immersive experience, letting you relive your captured moments in a fully immersive 3D environment.

While Apple didn’t unveil all the details, there’s a strong possibility that the iPhone 15 Pro will extend its spatial capabilities to capturing photos with a three-dimensional quality. This exciting prospect could infuse depth and realism into your visual memories.

Additionally, the specifics regarding file formats and sizes for spatial videos are still under wraps. Users will probably have to activate a unique mode within the Camera app to capture these immersive videos, but how they will be saved and viewed within the Photos app remains a mystery.

During the iPhone 15 Pro launch event, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing, Greg “Joz” Joswiak, didn’t address these questions. Still, the company has promised that the ability to shoot spatial video is “coming later this year.” So, while we eagerly await more details, it’s safe to say that Apple is pushing the boundaries of what we can do with smartphone cameras. Until then Stay tuned for a more immersive visual experience with your iPhone 15 Pro.
